Great news for Scouts, leaders, and parents! All merit badge pamphlets are now available as free PDFs on the Scouting.org merit badge website (https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/). This upgrade gives everyone free access to these resources. Printed versions are still available through Scout shops. Merit badge pamphlets are designed to help Scouts complete the most current set of requirements. Here is how to access the digital PDFs:
Go to https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/
Select the badge of interest
Scroll down the page past the requirements and select the button, “Download the Free Pamphlet”

Due to a delay at National, no Eagle Rank certificates have been released since December. If you are in need of a presentation kit (rank insignia, medal, and pins) for an Eagle Court of Honor this summer, please contact Lilly Bruno at the Council office via email at [email protected] to confirm that a kit is available and coordinate a day and time for pickup.

There are several changes to Eagle Scout processes at the National, Council, and District levels. Please help spread this information to your Unit Life Scouts, Leaders, and Advancement Chairs.
CFC Eagle Application Process: The Council has a new online tool for submitting Eagle Rank Applications, which eliminates the need to mail paperwork until after the BOR is completed and provides real-time tracking of status. The tool and instructions for use are available at http://eagleapp.cflscouting.org/
Eagle Reference Changes: National has reduced the required references to 4 and removed the specific roles on the application. Scoutmasters and Committee Chairs may not be references, and use of Parents is strongly discouraged. The Scout is now responsible for requesting letters from references. More information is available here: https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Eagle-References-Pre-and-Post-January-1-2025.pdf
District Eagle BOR Requests: With multiple volunteers now serving as Eagle BOR District Reps for the Northern portion of the District, we are no longer able to maintain a list of available EBOR dates and instead need Units to provide available dates when requesting an EBOR via [email protected]. A Scout may make this request, but must have coordinated with and cc their Unit Advancement Chair when doing so. When requesting please allow for enough time to obtain reference letters, and provide multiple dates if possible to aid in ease of scheduling. If known, providing a location and preferred time when requesting helps streamline the process.
Any questions about these changes or the Eagle Scout process can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected].
Thanks,
Dan Morrison, Narcoossee Advancement Chair

Next Roundtable: Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 7:00pm
We would like to invite you to the Narcoossee District Roundtable, which is typically be held on the third Thursday of every month at Center Point Community Church (9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825). Doors open for gathering at 6:30pm, and opening flag is at 7pm. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!
This month’s June Roundtable will be held on Thursday, 6/19/25. Program breakout groups will be offered for Cub Scout leaders and Scouts BSA/Venturing/Sea Scout leaders.
If you have any announcements or messages you would like to present or convey at Roundtable, please contact John Rhodes at [email protected].
