Narcoossee District & Council Awards

Call for Nominations

Attention Narcoossee District Scout Leaders and Parents! We need your help!

In May 2026, the Narcoossee District of the Central Florida Council will be hosting its annual District Recognition Banquet to recognize and celebrate outstanding volunteers, units, and organizations with District Awards honoring service through the end of 2025! We know there are many great volunteers and units who are deserving of recognition for their tremendous efforts; but we can only choose award recipients from the nominations received!

Please, please, please take a moment to submit nominations for District Awards, including Individual Leadership Awards for different positions, Unit of the Year Awards, the Shining Star Award in recognition of a local organization that supports Scouting in our district, and for the highest honor in our district—the District Award of Merit.

More information and nomination deadlines for these District awards will be provided below along with information on how to nominate a Scouter for the Council-level Silver Beaver Award.

Nomination Form: 2026 Narcoossee District Awards Nomination Form

Nomination Deadline: February 28, 2026

Please use the 2026 District Awards Nomination Form (linked above) to nominate units, individuals, or organizations affiliated with the Narcoossee district for recognition for their contributions through the end of 2025. The nomination process for these awards is quick and easy – you just need to name the unit, individual, or local organization you are nominating and briefly explain WHY you are nominating them for special recognition. Submission of multiple nominations is encouraged! BUT PLEASE, USE A SEPARATE FORM FOR EACH NOMINATION.

Unit Award Categories: Cub Scout Pack, Scouts BSA Troop, Venture Crew or Sea Scout Ship

Individual Leadership Award Categories: Cubmaster, Assistant Cub Master, Den Leader (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, AOL), Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Crew Advisor/Ship Skipper, Assistant Crew Advisor/Ship Mate, Committee Chair, Committee Member, Charter Organization Representative, Unit Commissioner, Roundtable Commissioner

Local Organization Award: The ‘Shining Star’ award honors an organization outside of Scouting for its support of Scouting within the district.

Submit completed nominations by the February 28th deadline, either in-person at the Narcoossee District Roundtable OR by email to Ron Randolph at [email protected].

District Award of Merit

Nomination Form: District Award of Merit Nomination Form

Nomination Deadline: February 28, 2026

The District Award of Merit is the highest award that a District can bestow on one of its volunteers. ANY registered adult leader can be nominated for the District Award of Merit. Among the common misconceptions about the District Award of Merit is that only long-time scout leaders who are active as District or Council level volunteers can receive this prestigious award. In fact, more often than not, the leaders selected for this award are UNIT LEVEL volunteers who have done an outstanding job serving the youth in their own Packs, Troops, Teams, Crews, or Ships for a number of years.

Please, if you know of a dedicated scouter within or outside of YOUR unit who has not already received the District Award of Merit (see list of recent recipients below) and should be recognized with this high honor, please click on the link above to download the nomination form. Please also invite parents and other leaders familiar with the Scouter’s contributions to submit their own nomination or write a letter of endorsement to support your nomination.

The next step is to fill out the form to the best of your ability. DO NOT ask your nominee to provide you with the requested information – we want our recipients to be completely surprised when they learn that they have been selected for this recognition. Information can be obtained from your nominee’s family members or close friends or other members of your unit. If you cannot obtain all of the requested information, that’s okay. Just write out a statement explaining why you feel your nominee deserves this awesome recognition and turn in the nomination form by the February 28th deadline.

Silver Beaver Award

The Silver Beaver Award is a council-level distinguished service award recognizing registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given at the council level.
