The Annual Colonial District Recognition Banquet will be held on May 25, 2023!
Come to the February Roundtable meeting to learn about this year’s district award categories and how you can nominate your unit leaders and volunteers for awards.
<!–
–>
1. Life scouts who are ready for their Eagle Project Workbook review and District approvals now have the option of personally meeting with a District Advancement team member by appointment. The Life Scout can still opt to do this process electronically, if preferred.
2. Eagle Boards of Review (EBOR) will now be held by appointment at a location coordinated by the District. While the District will be coordinating the location, Troops are still encouraged to send their own representatives for their EBOR. If the Troop is not able to provide representatives, district representatives can be available.

Colonial District Roundtable
Next Roundtable: Thursday February 16, 2023 at 7pm
We would like to invite you to the Colonial District Roundtable, which is typically held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Centre Point Community Church (9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825). Doors open for gathering at 6:30pm, and opening flag is at 7pm. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit in our Council should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!
At this month’s February Roundtable on 2/16/23, we will be sharing information about how to NOMINATE your unit’s stand-out volunteers for district awards! Come learn about the district award process and the specific award categories for this year. Come early to enjoy dinner from the OA Grill—see details in next announcement.
This month’s program breakout groups will feature the following topics. Please bring your ideas and questions!
Cub Scout Program Breakout: Are you ready for Crossover, Blue and Gold, Pinewood Derby, and change in leadership after Crossover? Are your Cub leaders advancing in training and obtaining their knots? We will be discussing these questions as well as looking ahead to Annual Planning and the Summertime Pack award.
Scouts BSA/Venturing Program Breakout: Guide to Safe Scouting. What are your safety practices and have you done a safety assessment for your Unit? How are you preparing for new crossover scouts? Share Summer camp plans and are you running into any obstacles? Spring Camporee, who’s going and are you registered?
Looking ahead to next month…the March Roundtable meeting has been CHANGED to a week earlier next month—to 3/9/23—so it takes place before the OCPS Spring Break holiday week. Please mark your calendar and help get the word out to your unit leaders!
Thank you all for making our Colonial District Roundtable the most attended Roundtable in the Council. Don’t forget bring a friend! If you have any announcements or messages you would like to present or convey please contact Mike Hockman, Roundtable Chair, at [email protected]
