Update to Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook
Attention all Life Scouts! The Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook has been updated. All earlier versions of the workbook need to be copied over to the new 2023A before district review.
Download the NEW Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook PDF from the National website at:
https://www.scouting.org/programs/scouts-bsa/advancement-and-awards/eagle-scout-workbook/
Please note that the “Signature Page” (Page H) has not changed in the NEW Workbook Project Proposal section. If you have approval signatures already, you do not need to get them again. Just attach a printable image of that page with the NEW Workbook.
If you have questions or concerns contact your Scout Leader or Mentor.

Scouts with ‘Almost-Finished’ Partial Merit Badges
Are you or do you know a Scout who has an ‘almost-finished’ partial merit badge that just needs sign-offs on one or two remaining requirements from a qualified Merit Badge Counselor? Colonial District will have Merit Badge Counselors available to support Scouts with sign-offs on partials at the March Roundtable meeting (3/9/23, 7pm, Centerpointe Church). Scouts should bring their blue card and be ready to provide evidence of completion of requirements in need of sign-off.
More Merit Badge Counselors are needed to support this initiative. If you can help out, please email our Roundtable Commissioner, Mike Hockman, at [email protected].

Colonial District Roundtable
Next Roundtable: Thursday April 20, 2023 at 7pm
We would like to invite you to the Colonial District Roundtable, which is typically held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Centre Point Community Church (9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825). Doors open for gathering at 6:30pm, and opening flag is at 7pm. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit in our Council should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!
This month’s April Roundtable will be held on Thursday 4/20/23, Come early to enjoy dinner from the OA Grill—see details in next announcement.
This month’s program breakout groups will feature the following topics. Please bring your ideas and questions!
Cub Scout Program Breakout: Summertime pack awards and summer plans, annual planning questions, Ranks and awards-ceremonies, pack assessment, how are you looking after annual planning?
Scouts BSA/Venturing Program Breakout: Annual plan, summer camp plans, how was the Spring Camporee, and what would you like to see at a Camporee in the Fall?
Looking ahead…the May Roundtable on 5/18/23 we will have our Annual Program Launch event—a Scouting fair of sorts with local businesses and other groups hosting booths at which they will share program opportunities for scouting units. Please mark your calendar and bring friends!
If you have any announcements or messages you would like to present or convey at Roundtable, please contact Mike Hockman, Roundtable Chair, at [email protected]

Troop Leaders. For year, Troop 173 imparted Tenderfoot Skills on our New Scout Campout in April, and struggled to help Scouts who missed that campout get caught up. It hit us that this could be offered as a track at a Merit Badge Adademy, and that other troops might benefit as well. So, April 22, we are offering a single day Tenderfoot Skills Track at an Outdoor Merit Badge Academy at Lake Mills Park. In additional to the Tenderfoot Skills class, we will be offering classes on select Second Class, the First Aid merit badge, and the Pioneering merit badge.
